After a whole week of physical and tactical training in Japan, Internacional will make their debut in the world's most important club competition on Wednesday. The club will begin their participation in the semi-finals, and a win means that next Sunday's opponents in the final match will be either FC Barcelona or Club América, who will face each other on Thursday. The competition regulations foresee a 30-minute extra time period in case of draw after 90 minutes. If the draw persists, the decision will go into a penalty shootout. The team led by coach Abel Braga, who extended his contract for another year, is expected to begin the match with the following line-up: Clemer; Ceará, Índio, Fabiano Eller and Martín Hidalgo; Edinho, Wellington Monteiro, Fernandão and Alex; Alexandre Pato and Iarley.

As the two clubs sport the same colours, FIFA conducted a drawing of lots to decide on who would wear their red jerseys. And Inter will be the team to wear their second kit and start the game with white shirts. It will be a debut for the kit designed by Reebok for the Club World Cup.

The temperature in Tokyo is low, ranging around 8ºC at night, but the wind chill temperature is even lower. Good weather is forecast for the match. Although kick-off will be relatively early (19.20), the match will need artificial lights as the sun sets at 17.00 at this time of the year in Tokyo.

Inter will count on at least one thousand Colorados in the stadium. As of Tuesday, approximately 600 Internacional fans have arrived in Japan, and they are expected to be accompanied by Gaúchos and Brazilians living in the country. On Tuesday, at least 100 Colorado supporters watched Inter's training session at Tokyo National Stadium. The players examined the pitch, trained penalty kicks and are now ready for the decisive match.

"The training session was good and we are ready to face this unique moment," said midfielder Alex. "A Club World Cup means the highest point in our careers for us, Brazilians. We have come here not only to compete, but to be champions," emphasised skipper Fernandão.

Al-Ahly qualified to face Inter after beating Auckland City 2-0 on Sunday. The two players who scored the goals are the team's main players ? Egyptian Aboutrika and Angolan Flávio, who make up the striking pair. The African champions are expected to play an offensive game against Inter. At any rate, that's what Portuguese coach Manoel Jorge said. "We have to be more confident in ourselves. We have nothing to lose and in the worst scenario we will gain valuable experience. We have some good individual talents, therefore there's nothing to be afraid of," said Manoel Jorge.
